FOURTEEN VENUES operated by Academy Music Group (AMG) have commissioned local artists to create works that with the theme and words This Is Just an Interval.
Venue sponsor O2 believes the initiative, part of a national campaign, will help to remind music fans that the venues are waiting to return
The artworks will be located outside the venues for the local community to view.
Venues involved in the initiative include London’s O2 Froum (cap. 2,350) and O2 Academy Brixton (4,920), Birmingham’s O2 Academy (3,000) and AMG venues in Oxford, Bournemouth, Leeds and Bristol.
“The nation has experienced an extended break without live music, but this is just an interval and it will be back,” says O2 head of sponsorship Gareth Griffiths.
“We wanted to show our appreciation by ensuring fans remember the good times until we’re all able to enjoy live music together again.”
