Alban arena manager will be ‘much missed’

THE GENERAL manager of The Alban Arena in St Albans, Frank Leclezio, has died following a short battle with

Leclezio had worked at the 1,000-capacity venue for 18 years and was appointed general manager in 2008. He has been credited with transforming the venue into one of the region’s most popular concert halls.

“Frank was a wonderful character, larger than life with a heart of gold,” says The Alban Arena team in a statement.

“His sense of mischief was always apparent and he will be sorely missed. We may have lost a legend, but his spirit will live on inside and beyond the theatre that he loved so much.”

Deputy general manager Beverley Langdon is currently filling the role left by Leclezio.

Acts playing the venue include Jools Holland & His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, 10cc, Elkie Brooks and Martine McCutcheon.
