BRITs Week breaks fundraising record

9 May 2018

THE BRITS Week concert series raised more than £650,000 for the War Child charity, up on the £567,000 raised by the event last year.

Among acts to take part in the week-long event in February were Ed Sheeran at Indigo at The O2 (cap. 2,350), Rag‘n’Bone Man at Islington Assembly Hall (800), Jessie Ware at Bush Hall (350), Wolf Alice at Gorilla (550) in Manchester and alt-J at The Garage (600).

The shows was produced by AEG Presents, BPI, War Child and O2, and saw Warner Music, Sony Music and Universal Music curate showcases featuring new talent.

War Child music events specialist Jim Benner says this year’s War Child BRITs Week had been its most successful ever.
