THE SECOND edition of Festout, the new outdoor tradeshow for festival and event suppliers, will focus on festival safety and crowd management training this September.
Held at Sandown Park in Surrey, the event allows companies such as marquees, structure, seating and trackway providers to display their wares outdoors, in the setting they’ll be used.
Festout event director Duncan Siegle says 65 per cent of clients rebooked their stands immediately after last year and he is expecting about 200 exhibitors this year, compared to just over 100 at the first event.
“We’ve almost sold out of outdoor space, which is a nice problem to have,” he says.
He believes the outdoor sector is growing. “Although you read about shows being cancelled, there are a multitude of new events coming through,” he says. “Events have a shelf life and have to reinvent themselves.”
Organised by Mash Media, which also runs The Event Production Show (EPS) at London’s Olympia in February and publishes Access All Areas magazine, Festout attracted about 1,300 visitors last year, ays Siegle.
Festout seminar speakers include The Fair’s Nick Morgan and Ground Control’s Jon Drape, while Evolution Dome, Fews Marquees, Gofer and A1 Loo Hire are among the exhibitors.
