First live acts revealed for the BRITs

4 January 2018

ED SHEERAN, Stormzy, Dua Lipa and Sam Smith will be among the acts performing live at the Mastercard-sponsored BRIT Awards.

The event will take place on 21 February at London’s The O2, held at the venue for the eighth consecutive year.

The awards, featuring categories including British Single, British Group and British Album of the Year, will be broadcast live on ITV.

A UK audience of 5.4 million watched the BRITS on TV in 2017, while the event was seen by viewers in more than 30 countries via streaming sites, with Apple Music as the official download and streaming partner.

Category nominations will be announced later this month.

The BRIT Trust, the BRIT Awards’ charity set up by UK labels association the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) has now raised more than £20m for worthy causes since 1989.

Among the trust’s main beneficiaries are music therapy charity Nordoff Robins and The BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology in Croyden, which has seen acts including Adele, Leona Lewis and Loyle Carner pass through its doors.
