GigRev plans expansion of ‘power to the artiste’ app

WHITE-LABEL app service GigRev has launched a £250,000 crowdfunding campaign through Seedrs, as it seeks to expand internationally.

The platform allows artistes to share content with their fans, live stream videos via their phones and buy pre-sale tickets and merchandise.

By creating their own social media networks – effectively digital fanclubs – GigRev founder and CEO Kevin Brown says fans can become subscribers and then be offered more exclusive content.

“GigRev is an app that musicians can brand as their own and promote online,” says Brown. “It puts the earning power back into their hands, so that they can monetise their influence and actually turn a profit.

“We’re looking for investors who want to take on the music industry and be part of a new era where the power moves back to the talent and where artistes can earn money from their valuable content, rather than giving it away for free.”

Money from the crowdfunding campaign will be used to fund a team of developers to create new features, attract clients and expand into new markets.

Acts using GigRev include Thunder, Elle Exxe, RavenEye and Aston Lane.
