Harding steps down as UKCMA chair

Festival
20 May 2019

THE MD of Showsec, Mark Harding, is standing down as chairperson of the UK Crowd Management Association (UKCMA) after 10 years in the position, to be replaced by Eric Stuart, director of crowd management and training company Gentian Events.

Meanwhile, Steve Blake of Storm4Events will join Tony Ball of Show and Event Security (SES) Group as a second vice chairperson, supporting Stuart.

“It has been an honour chairing the UKCMA throughout a decade of hard work,” says Harding. “It was ground-breaking for the industry when the association received recognition from the government’s Security Industry Authority [SIA]. The commercial acumen and industry knowledge of the membership provides a solid platform for the new chairperson to take the association to the next stage.”

Harding will continue his work with the SIA’s Strategic Advisory Group.
