Hits Radio concert to be first of many

9 July 2018

BAUER-OWNED national station Hits Radio, which launched last month and broadcasts from Manchester, has created its first branded live music event, Hits Radio Live.

Take That will headline the show, which is due to take place at the 21,000-capacity Manchester Arena on 14 July. The band became the first act to be played on radio station when it began broadcasting on 4 June.

The event, which is being co-promoted by Hits Radio and EMO, will also feature performances by acts including Rita Ora, Liam Payne, George Ezra, Clean Bandit, Years and Years, Sigala and Jax Jones.

Hits Radio breakfast show presenter Gemma Atkinson will host the concert, which has tickets priced from £31.10 to £75.

The station’s marketing director Nick Button said it would be the first of many live music events under the Hits Radio banner.

“It will bring the radio station to life and our listeners closer to the action,” he says.

Hits Radio is the only national radio station to broadcast from Manchester. It is aimed at a family-focused audience aged 25 to 44.
