Dedicated to the Business of Contemporary Live Music

Jon Ollier’s Fiinix rises

8 December 2020

ED SHEERAN’S agent Jon Ollier (pictured) has left CAA and launched his own booking operation, One Fiinix Live (OFL).

He tells LIVE UK  that, unlike in sports, television or film, the business models of music agencies remained largely unchanged for “a generation” before coronavirus.

OFL will represent music artistes in whichever discipline they choose to operate, be that live events, online, publishing or other performance.

“If you look at an artiste as a company, that branding is not necessarily just for music: the lines are being blurred all the time,” he says. “One artiste I work with is making a TV show and will act in it, while others will write books or podcast.

“The large companies were distracted adding departments to add value, for example for corporate, for branding, etc. These were very expensive, and became deadweight during the pandemic.”

He says he would like to be back in an office, surrounded by a team and insists, “I have no intention of remaining a cottage industry and would like to attract other talented professionals to be a very competitive business.”

Other Ollier clients include Anne-Marie, Lauv, 2Cellos and JC Stewart.
