Kerrang! honours the great

9 July 2018

Fresh from headlining the 55,000-capacity Etihad Stadium in Manchester, Foo Fighters collected the Best International Live Act and Best International Band trophies at the Kerrang! Awards.

The event, which took place at Islington Assembly Hall (cap. 850) on 21 June, also saw Brighton-based metal band Architects win Best British Live Act.

Other categories saw Biffy Clyro declared Best British Band, while Aerosmith guitarist and co-founder Joe Perry received the Kerrang! Inspiration award. Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi was presented with the Kerrang! Icon award.

“Kerrang!’s longstanding tradition of championing new music is still very much at our core and it’s a privilege to shine a light on breakthrough acts Dream State and Code Orange as well as homegrown heroes like Enter Shikari, Biffy Clyro and Architects,” said Kerrang! editor Sam Coare.

Launched as a print magazine in 1981, Kerrang! is now a multi-channel brand that includes film production teams based in London and Brooklyn, New York.
