ARTISTES WHO won festival slots at Larmer Tree (cap. 5,000) via its Breakthrough Music Award are already finding wider recognition according to the festival’s Lyndsey Harvey.
Winners of the 2018 event, Arcade Hearts, are now on their first headline tour, while Laura Goldthorp, who scooped the solo artiste award, has released her first EP and is attracting attention on Spotify.
The winners of this year’s competition Southampton’s BASH! and Bristol’s Agata will play to crowds of up to several thousand, either on the second or main stage at Larmer Tree, depending on schedules. They could be sharing a stage with headliners such as Kate Tempest, Gomez, Jack Savoretti and KT Tunstall.
“The competition means we discover artistes who are not necessarily on our radar,” says Harvey. “There’s a growing trend for festivals to do this as it’s a good mutual opportunity for both the acts and the festival.”
Final tier weekend tickets to Larmer Tree cost £185.
