Lincoln Imp on the up

PROMOTER WILLIAM Nicklen of Crown Promotion & Management is encouraging more acts to include to include a date at The Lincoln Imp (cap. 300) in Scunthorpe on their
national tours.

He says a momentum of good audiences has been building at the venue and he wants to keep it going.

“We’ll see around 50-60 people when we’re running local band nights and usually between 100 and 200 for more established touring acts,” he says.

“The crowds here definitely bring the noise in both scenarios – I run two nights a month, but then there are additional nights by other promoters, the landlady of the venue and so on.”

Nicklen, who notes that the Imp was listed as the third best small venue in a poll on music listings website Gigmit this year, has hosted shows by American Head Charge, Snuff, HED pe, Crazy Town and Hoosiers.

“Every show we put on, we’re complimented on the high standard of our venue, the quality of our rider/catering and we guarantee a warm family welcome,” he says.

Artistes performing at the venue include 10 Years, Gareth Gates (acoustic), and The Maension.
