More room at the arena

18 March 2019

A MAJOR Leeds venue has just got a little bit bigger, after increasing its standing capacity to 4,321.

This means the First Direct Arena’s overall capacity for standing/seated shows is 13,781, an increase on the previous 13,500- maximum capacity.

“Standing floor tickets for concerts at the Arena are always in high demand and it is great that even more guests can now be accommodated in this area,” says the venue’s general manager Jen Mitchell.

Upcoming shows at the arena, which opened in 2013, feature George Ezra, Olly Murs, Rita Ora, Westlife, Eagles, Alice Cooper and Shed Seven over the coming months.

Owner SMG Europe recently announced a merger with AEG Facilities, which owns The O2 (cap. 20,000)) in London – see LIVE UK issue 229
