When joined the company:

Started it in 2003

Company Signings:

Frank Turner (and management), Against Me! (world except-North America), Reuben, Skinny Lister, Esme Patterson, Will Varley, Counterfeit.

Among favourite emerging acts:

Holy Moly & the Crackers, Atlas Wynd, Ady Suleiman

Favourite venues for seeing unsigned acts:

Monarch in Camden, Thousand Island (formerly upstairs at the Garage, London), Rescue Rooms/Bodega in Nottingham, Smiling Buddha in Toronto, Canada, Black Bear in Brooklyn, US, and Unterrock in Berlin, Germany.

Importance of playing live:

“Absolutely essential. It is the key element to signing. We encourage our bands to tour together and are going to start Xtra Mile tours in spring 2018.”

Best advice to unsigned act managers:

“Keep at it, don’t push too hard with labels, find different approaches if one door closes.  Don’t wait for a green light, go make things happen and be prepared to work your socks off. Small steps forward are still steps in the right direction to your goals.”

Emerging new acts on the label:

Counterfeit, Sean McGowan, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly.
