ESTABLISHING A separate identity to its sister venue in London’s Soho, the 120-capacity PizzaExpress Live in Holborn is hosting evening such as An Audience with Bob Harris, alongside premium ticket concerts.
The Bob Harris event comprises what the venue describes an intimate evening of story and song from the BBC2 presenter’s 50 years in broadcasting and music. Tickets cost £20, while An Evening with Carroll Thompson is priced at £26.
“There’s a real thrill being able to present great names in an intimate space,” says PizzaExpress Live programming manager Joseph Paice. “To host legendary figures like Bob Harris, Chrissie Hynde and cutting-edge names like Jordan Rakei, Laura Mvula or Nao, is something very special.”
Premium ticket sows feature Kim Wilde, with entrace priced at £55 and Marc Almond at £65-£95.
The PizzaExpress Jazz Club (100) in Soho’s Dean Street has hosted live music since 1976, hosting shows by artistes such asGregory Porter, Benny Carter, Amy Winehouse, Bill Wyman, Bud Freeman, Jamie Cullum, Brian May, Rick Wakeman, Van Morrison and Diana Krall over the years.
The Holborn venue was opened in 2017.
