See beats touts with fan-to-fan

12 April 2018

ETHICAL RESALE platform Fan-to-Fan, launched by See Tickets a year ago, has allowed more than 15,000 customers to buy pre-owned tickets at fair prices.

Fan-to-Fan enables See customers to resell tickets bought from the company, at no more than five per cent above face-value, allowing for earlier booking fees (see LIVE UK issue 207).

“It is a safe space where customers won’t see any vastly inflated prices or have the worry of purchasing from unscrupulous sources – basically it’s the antithesis of secondary sites,” says See CEO Rob Wilmshurst.

As well as employing its resale platform, See – which sold over 11 million tickets in 2017 and is the exclusive ticketing partner for Glastonbury (cap. 140,000) – aims to combat touts by cancelling suspicious purchases, blocking transactions from cards associated with touts and using anti-bot technology.

“I estimate we’ve stopped tens of thousands of tickets from falling into the wrong hands,” says Wilmshurst.
