DIRECTOR OF festival organiser From the Fields, Ben Robinson, co-founder of Kendal Calling (cap. 25,000) and bluedot (10,000), will give a keynote speech on sustainability at the outdoor event trade exhibition, Showman’s Show.

The session, part of a new Hub initiative during the event at Newbury Showground, will explore how bluedot engaged its audience to help meet its environmental goals.

The Hub is a feature of the 4,500 visitor show dedicated to sustainability, which also hosts the second meeting of Vision:2025, the CO2 reduction campaign launched by festival sustainability group Powerful Thinking, founded by Chris Johnson, organiser of Shambala (10,000).

Other organisations presenting environmental initiatives at the Hub are the National Caterers’ Association (NCASS) and sustainability certification agency Julie’s Bicycle.

“Improving sustainability across the outdoor event and festival industry is a key concern for many of our exhibitors and visitors and is important to us,” says Showman’s organiser Johnny Lance.

The Showman’s Show offers event contractors including Star Events, Live Trakway and Eventbrite the chance to display their products and services in an outdoor setting. It takes place on 18-19 October.
