SMG returns to Ticketmaster

VENUE OPERATOR SMG Europe has returned to Live Nation Entertainment-owned Ticketmaster, appointing the company its official ticketing partner for its UK venues.

The deal, which was first reported at the end of 2016 (see LIVE UK issue 203), encompasses Manchester Arena (cap. 21,000), Newcastle’s Metro Arena (11,250) and First Direct Arena (12,000) in Leeds, with York Barbican (1,850) the first to switch over to Ticketmaster at the end of May.

The link-up follows the expiry of SMG’s five-year deal with Eventim, the UK subsidiary of German pan-European ticketing giant CTS Eventim. Prior to this SMG had contracts with Ticketmaster.
