THE WIDE range of productions at London’s The Queens Theatre (cap. 500), demands a mixing system that can accommodate everything from musicals and theatre to live music such as The Searchers, Jimmy Osmond and Creeds Cross.
The venue asked audio specialist Autograph Sales and Installations to specify a console, following its work with Bloomsbury Theatre (550), who recommended an SD9T system by British manufacturer DiGiCo, which also runs the company’s theatre-specific “T” software.
The desk is known for its small footprint, plentiful inputs, and its popularity among visiting technicians, according to Peppe Mallozzi of Autograph, while Chris Howcroft, the theatre’s technical coordinator points out, “The Queens Theatre Hornchurch produces a lot of actor-musician shows and the T-series software gives us the features we need to respond to a designer’s requests quickly.
“The system supplied by Autograph and DiGiCo has also revitalised our PA, which sounds better than it has in a decade.”
