Stockton Globe appoints GM

News
22 October 2019

AMBASSADOR THEATRE Group (ATG) has appointed Jo Ager as general manager for new venue Stockton Globe (cap. 3,000) in Stockton-on-Tees.

Ager joins ATG from Scarborough Spa Grand Hall (1,825) and the Whitby Pavilion (372) where she spent the last 10 years developing the venues for operator Sheffield International Venues (SIV).

The restoration of the council-owned Globe, situated on Stockton High Street, is backed by £4.5 million of Heritage Lottery funding and will see an adjoining 250-capacity performance space created.

“Stockton’s history and culture are steeped in music, and it’s extremely exciting to be establishing the town as a focus of the North East’s incredible live music scene once more,” says Ager.

Other ATG-owned and/or operated concert venues include Waterside Theatre (1,500) in Aylesbury, Folkestone’s Leas Cliff Hall (1,500), Liverpool Empire (2,369), Oxford’s New Theatre (1,711) and Victoria Hall (1,635) in Stoke.
