WHILE MANY artistes keep their food and drink riders a closely guarded secret, the Rolling Stones have attracted attention by tweeting images of their No Filter tour shepherd’s pies.
The personalised dishes were commissioned by catering supplier GIG for each of the band members and achieved national media attention when Ron Wood and Keith Richards released the photographs on social media.
According to the band, Richards instructed fellow members not to “bust the crust” of the pie at meal time, a privilege he reserved for himself.
“We were thrilled when Ronnie and Keith tweeted the photos, so clearly they’ve been enjoying them,” says GIG global operations director Bonnie May. “We’ve been successful in tour catering for 30 years by delivering a band’s rider to a high standard and we thought the personalised pie dishes would be a nice touch.”
Stones shows include Manchester’s Old Trafford (cap. 75,000), Twickenham Stadium (55,000) and Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium (74,500).
