The O2 shines green light

News
22 October 2019

THE O2 (cap. 21,000) and owner-operator AEG have launched a corporate social responsibility programme, to promote sustainability, accessibility, charity and community.

The new initiative, named Good Vibes All Round, follows existing programme AEG 1EARTH which aims to minimise the venue’s and company’s impact on the environment.

During the last year, the company banned single-use plastic in the arena, implemented a green cleaning programme and opened an on-site Wormery and Eco-Digester – all of  which has resulted in a 40 per cent reduction in transport to site and less than one per cent of waste going to landfill per year.

AEG recently confirmed its Environmental Goals for 2020, to cut greenhouse gas emissions, reduce water use in water-stressed areas and increase its recycling and reuse rates across all of its venues.

Artistes playing the venue include Cher, John Legend, Little Mix, Bjork and Liam Gallagher.
